My grandpa grew up in a poor family of 15 children. Eleven girls and four boys. The fifteen 'van Leur' children grew up in the center of Utrecht the Netherlands. All these fifteen children got their own families with children, who grew up with a million cousins, who also got children again. One big family. One of the van Leur children, Bertus moved to Canada with his wife when he was younger and got his family there. He missed his family in the Netherlands terribly and they all flew over a lot in the summers. Sadly Bertus isn't with us anymore, but his children are, and they also got children. Last summer I made a trip to Canada and met my Canadian family. I was so happy to finally meet them, I became close with Rachel, my secondcousin. And a couple days ago, after 27 years two Canadian cousins flew over to the Netherlands again. Marlo the daughter of Bertus and Rachel the daughter of Marlo. It has been an amazing week with them, we've traveled trough the Netherlands to family and everyone became close again. I am sure it won't take another 27 years to see each other again.
