Tesla Cybertruck: Here’s Why it’s Worth $70,000

Tesla Cybertruck: Here’s Why it’s Worth $70,000 Tesla intends to shake up the massive light duty truck category with a Cyperpunk inspired electric pickup truck that looks like a pointy metal box, but accelerates like a super car, and tows like a Mack semi-trailer.
The acclaimed Cybertruck is a fully electric pickup truck that does not only impress through its completely unique and not so subtle design, but also through the virtually indestructible nature of its exoskeleton. Musk’s postapocalyptic lorry is made out of Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel, one of the most durable materials known to man, because as Elon puts it: “If there was something better, we’d use it.” And we’re pretty sure they would!

Ok, so the bodywork is impenetrable, you cannot dent or scratch it, but what about the windows? Of course, they are made out of Tesla armor glass, and Elon referred to them as “transparent metal.” Despite the small hiccup during the unveiling that was likely caused by microfractures caused by the previous overzealous sledgehammer strikes, Tesla armor glass is way stronger that any standard window glass on comparable pickup trucks and can even stop small arms fire, or presumably, a 2X4 from slamming through the windshield on the highway.

Tesla says: “The Cybertruck is designed to have the utility of a truck and the performance of a sports car.” and they intend to deliver on that lofty statement. With a whopping range of over 500 miles on a single charge, Cybertruck drivers will not suffer from range anxiety. A proposed solar roof charger may add even more range to this electric beast. The Indestructible Cybertruck plus a solar roof equals sustainable living in case of an apocalypse. It seems that Elon has everything planned!
The most impressive spec of the Cybertruck is definitely its mind-bending acceleration that can take the polygonal metal box from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. This pickup is amazingly swift, the tri-motor model even beating a Porsche 911 off the line! Compared with the fastest gasoline pickup truck in the world, namely the Toyota Tundra TRD supercharged that can do 0 to 60 in only 4.4 seconds, Tesla’s e-truck is definitely reinventing the category.

Rumor has it that with the Plaid mode activated, the Cybertruck will have an output of 800 horsepower and 1000 pound-feet of torque, these specs being way more impressive than the 500+ horsepower and 550-pound feet of torque of the Supercharged tundra. Electric beats gasoline and that’s the new truth that we’re all just going to have to accept in the years to come.

When it comes to the towing capacity, the tri-motor Cybertruck wins again, as is expected. With over 14,000 pounds of towing capacity it outperforms the previous king: the 2020 Ford F-150, that has an available conventional tow rating of 13,200 pounds. The RAM 1500 is also left behind with 12,750 pounds, as well as the GMC Sierra with 12,500 pound towing capacity . All in all, the Cybertruck is on a sure journey to dethrone the classic behemoths that have been ruling the pickup market until now.

It’s a more than capable off-road electric truck that comes equipped with compressed air and on board power.

For an enhanced and safer off road experience, the Cybertruck comes equipped with adjustable air suspension that give it 16 inches of ground clearance and that, together with the low front and rear overhangs, will give the Cybertruck the best approach and departure angles in its class (35 and 28 degrees, respectively). In comparison, the 2020 Ford F-150 has a maximum approach angle of 25.8 degrees and a maximum departure angle of 27.1 degrees. In practice, this means that the Cybertruck can go over obstacles and drive on sloping routes without even the slightest chance of tipping over.

The 3500 pound payload of the Cybertruck and the 100 cubic feet of lockable compartments enrich the already loaded spec list and make this electric truck a winning choice for the price point of 70,000 dollars. This e-truck features the best from all worlds: sports car-like 2.9 seconds acceleration, monster-like 14,000-pound towing capacity, excellent offroad performance, and, of course, Tesla proprietary smart technology that puts it one step ahead of all its competitors.

A standard autopilot function comes by default with the Cybertruck but for an extra $7,000 you can benefit from the full-autonomous, self-driving tech that could make this immense truck smart enough to approach the driver when summoned or to simply drive itself on the highway. As you’ve probably already guessed, the iconic central touchscreen tablet is present in the Cybertruck as well, the 17 inch screen will be the control panel that will command each and every one of the car’s functions, exactly like the Model S, Model 3 or Model X.
