For any copyright, please send me a message. A total of 590 cases of coronavirus have so far been confirmed in the UK. Nearly 30,000 people have been tested for the virus in the UK, with 10 patients dying after a positive result for COVID-19. The government has provided figures showing how many cases have been reported, by 9am on each reporting day, in every upper tier local authority in England (county councils, unitary authorities, London and metropolitan boroughs). Sky News has also calculated the rate for each of those authority areas, per 100,000 population. The list immediately below orders the authorities by rate. Search to find how many cases have been reported in each local authority: The Scottish government has provided figures broken down by health authority, rather than local authority. At this stage, the UK as a whole is seeing near exponential growth in the total number of cases. One of the key indicators of what is happening across the country is how many new cases are occurring daily. In China, since strict social distancing measures were put in place, the number of daily cases has fallen. Signs that the epidemic has passed its peak in the UK will come when the number of daily cases starts to fall consistently. Some modellers however, have predicted there may be more than one peak, so although cases may begin to fall, they may later start to rise again. Worldwide, China has recorded by far the most cases of COVID-19, followed by Italy and Iran. South Korea was among the top three but has now dropped out, after it too began to bring the situation under control.
