Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has built walls masking slum areas along the route to be taken by US President Donald Trump from the airport to Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium to attend an event. Residents of the slums asked if their tin-shed houses were so unsightly, then why could the government not construct permanent homes for them. When asked about the wall being constructed to hide slums, Ahmedabad Mayor Bijal Patel said that she "hasn't seen that yet" and that she would "ask about it" and then will be able to say something about it. Donald Trump and Melania Trump will arrive for a two-day India visit on February 24. They will begin their visit with a grand event in Ahmedabad in PM Modi's home state Gujarat.
