TOLEDO, Ohio — Remember Pete Kadens? The man who pledged to pay for the senior 2020 graduating class at Jesup W. Scott High School and founded an organization dedicated to helping the the people of our community?
Well, if you don’t Jaden Jefferson sat down with Pete and discussed his personal dedication to giving back to the community that helped him grow and flourish. He says he used to work on Wall Street but he moved back to Toledo in order to give and help those who didn't already have the opportunity to succeed like he did.
He was a public school kid who had a great upbringing. His parents were not wealthy, but they had an emphasis on his education. He spent a lot of time in Chicago to help in the recovery after the war on drugs. He also says, the more time & money he gave — the wealthier he became.
A teacher who called him on the phone says that, “The question is no longer how will you go to college but what college are you going to?”. He hopes that these students will give back to their community just as he did. All the community support he received is what he believes equipped him for the future.
Pete founded an organization called H.O.P.E. Toledo Initiative. Here is a link to their website if you would like to donate:
