People in Kashmir are making gruelling daily journeys to find internet access as the region’s longest ever internet blackout continues. The Indian government has suspended communication links since August 2019, saying it was necessary to control unrest in Kashmir amid an ongoing insurgency. The controversial move has forced many Kashmiris who need to get online to travel long distances to towns that still have internet connections to the outside world.
