HN VIDEO: Truck slams into home, awakens father, knocks son right out of bed...
EAST FALMOUTH – A father says he was awakened by a loud crash, his son says he was knocked about 10 inches into air and right out of his bed! Startled, neither father or son had any clue what had just happened. It wasn't until the son looked outside that he noticed a truck had just crashed into the side of their home.
“The bed moved. I came up out of it... it was definitely an adventure, that's for sure,” says Matthew Webb, glad that he, his father, and the driver were not seriously hurt.
“I thought something had happened to my son,” says David Webb, “So I was screaming for him, thinking something was wrong – but glad nobody got hurt, basically...”
It was definitely a miracle nobody was seriously hurt, the driver especially.
According to the Webbs, the driver was on his way home, tired after working a lot of hours at Falmouth Hospital, when he fell asleep and lost control of his full sized Toyota Tundra.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the crash scene, a truck into a house, at 179 Teaticket Highway/Route 28 at about 10:40 p.m. last evening. The driver was transported to Falmouth Hospital with injuries that did not sound to be life-threatening, according to radio transmissions.
HN had the opportunity to interview both father and son on camera. The following HN Video highlights the entire crash scene, including the structural damage to their home...
