Pakistani officials burn millions in illegal drugs (13 Dec 2019) Large quantities of drugs and alcohol were destroyed on Friday as part of an anti-smuggling campaign in Pakistan's Karachi.

About 250 million US dollars worth of contraband that people had tried to smuggle in or out of the country was gathered, said customs officer Dr. Jawwad Uwais Agha.

He said that 715 kilograms (1,576 pounds) of narcotics and 65,517 bottles of liquor were destroyed or burned.
