Hyderabad 4 Rape Accused Encounter: Cops Claim Accused Were Killed In Self-Defence

The lorry workers accused of gangraping and killing a young Hyderabad vet last week have been shot dead. The police say the four men, all aged between 20 and 24, tried to escape when they were taken to recreate the scene of their crime, and were subsequently killed. They say they fired in self-defence when the accused snatched a weapon and used it to attack them. Family members of the victim in the Hyderabad rape-murder case have expressed joy, as have the parents of Nirbhaya, the victim in the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case.
