Vettel “Not Satisfied” by Ferrari Stint

Of the many things that need to be resolved in 2020, one happens to be the future of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. The situation has seen a lot of speculation and the apparent lack of Ferrari’s performance during the pre-season testing added another dimension to it.

Sebastian Vettel has been pretty tight-lipped about his plans and even now he wants to stay focused on the year ahead.

“For the time being, my focus is on this year.”

“I still love driving. But as a racer you don’t just want to drive, you want to win and we are currently not doing this enough. My hunger for success has not yet been satisfied”

And for that, he needs a faster car which is what has taken precedence over any contract talks.

“But my thinking right now is not about a new contract, but about solutions to make the car faster.”

Mercedes Will Use DAS Despite Protest Threats

One of the possible points of contention off-track during the 2020 season could be Mercedes’ DAS system. Red Bull’s Helmut Marko already fired the first shot when he revealed that Red Bull will protest this innovation as was reported here.

It seems like Mercedes aren’t too bothered about a possible objection from the other teams. Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas revealed the team’s plans for the usage of DAS.

"I'm sure we'll be DAS-ing some of the straights. It depends which kind of laps, and which sessions, and so on”

"But we're still happy to have it in the car. We hope it can give an advantage, but again, we will see”

He also gave his thoughts on the possibility of it being deemed illegal.

“I'm sure we will have to wait for what happens [about the protest], but like I said earlier we would we would be happy to run it. But it is up to the team to calculate the possible risk of it being taken away.”

"In short answer, yes, we would like to keep it, but if there's a big risk we don't, there is no big problem then."
