About Brianna:

"I’m a physician assistant, certified athletic trainer, and professor specializing in chronic pain management. Pain management has always been a passion of mine, as I am affected by chronic pain due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, dysautonomia, and a spinal CSF leak. Living life on both sides of the exam room has helped me recognize that there are many cracks for patients to fall through when dealing with chronic illness.

After my recent back surgery, I have used my time off work to create a patient resource called www.HealedandEmpowered.com, which gives information about chronic pain.

When I’m not in the hospital, I try to collaborate with other healthcare providers to raise awareness of EDS, dysautonomia, and spinal CSF leaks. I am one of the lucky few who has a diagnosis and a great team of healthcare providers, and my life’s mission to help my fellow zebras and chronic pain warriors get the care they need to live their best life.

Follow my journey on Instagram at @healedandempowered for more info about managing life with chronic pain (changed from My Pain IQ).
