Nomad bikies arrested in relation to ‘fraudulent bushfire claims’

Nomad bikies arrested in relation to ‘fraudulent bushfire claims’ Police have arrested three Nomad bikies in relation to allegations a bushfire charity was ripped off after the deadly bushfires swept through Australia.

NSW Police have released a statement alleging the four bikies were arrested after “detectives received information about alleged drug supply, extortion, assaults, and fraudulent bushfire claims against a charity organisation”.

No charges have yet been laid.

The men – aged 25, 26, 31 and 33 – were arrested in a series of raids in Sunshine Bay and Batehaven at 7.30 am today.

One of the bikies is described as being a “senior member of the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang” while the other two were “associates”.

A fourth man was arrested in the raids but police have not indicated whether he has formal bikie links.

Police uncovered the information about bushfire charity fraud while investigating shots fired into a home in Batemans Bay in December.
