Part 1, Chapter 11

Part 1, Chapter 11 This is my series focused on practicing and then rolling out a polished audiobook version of my book, Sleight of Hand. The first few runs won’t be perfect. I am very specifically practicing so that I can get the know-how and skill to do the official run at a later date.

That being said, my preference going forward will be to practice each run as just that, a run. I won’t be repeating chapters over and over again until I get it right. For me, this is because my recording is a performance and one of the benefits of running through it like this is that I can get a feel for the flow of the book and how things are supposed to play out.

As with all my products, if you’re going to point out obvious errors, I most likely know. Please be a decent human being and instead of pointing out problems, give suggestions for how I can improve. Or just leave a pleasant comment, I would love to interact with you.

If you leave disparaging or rude comments, I will outright ban you from my channel.

Yes, what is found disparaging or rude is entirely up to my judgement. To protect against this just think, “Is this something I’d appreciate being said to me?” “Can this be said and be okay in everyday person to person conversation?” If it can’t be, then don’t say that thing.

But overall, if you just try to be an all around decent human being, we’ll get along fine.

That’s it, enjoy the show!

Sleight of Hand Back cover:

Something terrible has been forgotten.
The cycle continues, perpetuates, but too soon.
The telltale signs are there. The corruption in the government, the gathering of the heroes, the bids for control and powerful artifacts, the stagnation and meddling of elder, decrepit gods.
There is Daltin Bydeed, hiding in the wilds, trying to escape from the knowledge and responsibility he has discovered. Betrayal from his commanders, rot made manifest.
There, Drezzen Drell, the druid, has discovered a source of madness and void.
Erida, that mischievous entity of wrath, has sent her servant, her slave, Lilith Meryllock, to throw the Kingdom into chaos.
Even Kartan, the fallen black emperor, has slunk to the Kingdom from his defeat. With his final gasps, he vainly attempts to rebuild, or at the least, hopes to wreak just one more dreadful deed. Though he may be too far gone, lost to that emptiness.
All of it would seem to fit the pattern that we know oh so well.
But something is wrong. It is too soon and that which threatens us has been forgotten by all but myself.
It moves, a shadow, twisting events, acknowledged and realized by no one but I, and I am not enough.
They must be my mask.
I must be perfectly imperfect.
Or her sacrifice will mean nothing.
What a gamble.
But how else can I fight that which has been removed from existence only to return once more?
I must ask myself: Will my sleight of hand allow me to have my revenge?
Even if it does, will it be enough?
Will it ever be?
