South Korea will provide financial assistance to those helping to contain the spread of the coronavirus epidemic within the country.
The Central Disaster Management Headquarters announced on Saturday that it will provide 380 U.S. dollars to people who have been in quarantine for more than 14 days.
Families with members in quarantine will also be compensated.
The amount will be adjusted depending on the size of the family, and time spent in quarantine.
A five plus-person household would receive a maximum of $1,220 U.S. dollars.
Foreign nationals living in South Korea, and those who are self-quarantined, will also be eligible for compensation.
However, anyone who received paid leave from their employer is ineligible for the scheme.
But those who are, can begin applying February 17th.
