Exams requirements and 9th to 12th grade scores requirements

So as far as the exams are consider you need to give either the SAT OR THE ACT which is a English and math exam along with that you can choose between IELTS or TOFEL which are English proficiency exams but make sure you check the university requirements and which scores do they accept on their website before you decided to give the exams. Universities like MIT and Stanford have a subject SAT requirement which tests you Math and science skills. All these exams have a application fees which for the SAT you can find on the college board website and for IELTS and TOFEL on their websites.
As far as schools grades are considered Universities look at your 9th 10th 11th and 12th grades and I wouldn’t be able to give you a exact grade they require but it will be available on their websites and you can use a gpa calculator online and convert your grades to the American format which would give you a decent idea about your gpa

Portfolio building
Now as for profile building, I would suggest have 4 section in your portfolio again this is only a suggestion not a requirement
1. extracurricular activities - in which you can put in all the activities you participated in 9th grade like a state level soccer game etc there should be around 10-15 activities
2. Co-curricular activities- which would have different courses you have done related to the field you want to pursue You could do these courses on 3 websites which are Edex, courserra and udeamy the courses are conducted by differ universities on these websites and are normally free but if you want a certificate for the course you might have to pay them. It would be good to have 5-7 of these
3. Community service- in which you put in all the work you have done for the community like working in a old age home or something like that basically you have to show you really care for the community you could have 7-10 of these activities
4. Work experience- this is always good to have but not very essential

Applying to Universities
Before anything I would suggest making a List of universities you would want to be in and their fee structure SAT score requirements etc. then taking a practice SAT exam and adjusting the list according to your score. Now you apply to university either through a website called common application or if you are applying to Texas through Texas application if none then the university would have their own application portal. One very important thing is universities have an essay requirement so I would suggest going through the essay and start working on its ASAP because they are quite time consuming. Your school counselor will also need to Submit your Transcripts which you current school will provide and also Letters of Recommendation for which you will have send a link to your school counselor and he/she will need to make an account on that website and submit it. Now I know a couple of schools don’t have a counselor there is no need to worry you can speak to your school office about it and definitely they will help you out and another teacher would submit it. Then fill out for the rest of your application you can submit your application and pay the application fees. After this you need to go to the college board website and send your SAT scores to the university now college board allows you to send the scores to 4 universities for free but for the rest there is a charge similarly we have to send the TOFEL scores. One thing to make sure is that your scores should reach the university before their deadline. Universities also have an early action deadline which you can look at on their website. I would highly suggest applying to universities in the early deadline because even if you miss it you can go for the regular deadline.

Costs and scholarships
So, costs vary for University to university and most universities give you scholarships based on your grade and financial condition. You could find the approximate cost of your fees on the Universities website.

After getting accepted
After the University sends you the decision based on their decision you have to choose which university you want to join after which they will charge you a small courier fee and send you your I20 which is the most important document as an international student and will be used for your visa and make sure you keep it safely. There will be other paperwork you would need to complete after that.
