Ursula von der Leyen on Brexit: With every decision comes a trade-off

European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen has warned that there would be a "more distant partnership" between the UK and EU in future.

"The truth is that our partnership cannot and will not be the same as before. And it cannot and will not be as close as before - because with every choice comes a consequence," she said.

"With every decision comes a trade-off."
