Should You Modify Your Camera For Astrophotography?

Should You Modify Your Camera For Astrophotography? This is a brief video comparing a stock and an astro modified dslr. The video is intended as an aid to those who may be considering modifying their cameras. The cameras in the video are Canon eos 1000Ds,or XS’s depending on your location. I compare a single three minute exposure from each as well as one with the addition of a 7nm h-a filter. The in camera settings as well as exposure settings are the same. They were both shot at the same ambient temperature as well as on the same night using the same lens. A striking difference can be immediately noticed between the two. I do not believe a modified dslr can replace a dedicated and cooled astro camera. This video is intended for those who have a dslr and are curious about the difference it makes to modify them.
