HC asks WhatsApp, Google to preserve, provide data on JNU violence The Delhi High Court on Tuesday has asked WhatsApp and Google to preserve and provide all information sought by the Delhi Police for their probe into the Jan 5 violence on the JNU Campus, in accordance with the law. The Court has also the police to seize at earliest phones of members of two WhatsApp groups on which JNU violence was allegedly coordinated. The cops have also been directed to summon all individuals who are part of either one or both groups and confiscate their phones as part of the ongoing investigation into the attack that left 34 people injured. After the police informed the court that the university is yet to respond to police notices, the court has also told Dr Pramod Kumar, the JNU Registrar, to cooperate and provide the cops with all information requested.
