Every year, some of the most popular New Year's resolutions are related to losing weight.
And data shows getting enough sleep and consuming adequate fat can help reduce belly fat.

The average Korean adult sleeps for 6 hours 24 minutes a night, ….falling short of the seven to nine hours of sleep recommended by the U.S. National Sleep Foundation.
According to data analysis by the Korea Food Research Institute, …people who get seven to nine hours of sleep a night have 28 to 35 percent less risk of abdominal obesity …than those who get less than five hours of sleep each night.
A lack of sleep results in reduced leptin and elevated ghrelin, …which is likely to cause an increase in appetite.
In addition to getting enough sleep, those looking to lose belly fat should also consume an adequate amount of fat.
Those who slept for six hours with a proper intake of fat were nearly 30 percent less likely to have abdominal obesity than those with five hours of sleep.
But those who ate too much or too little fat didn't see the same benefits, and some even faced a higher risk of abdominal obesity.
The researchers recommend people to have a 13 to 26 percent ratio of fat in their diet.
Since the average Korean adult's diet has a 21 percent fat ratio, …just getting enough sleep should help lose belly fat.
