BSP: 'A lot of room' for monetary policy adjustments; cuts won't be as aggressive as last year's Philippine Central Bank Governor Benjamin Diokno says, contrary to some analysts views, the BSP has "a lot of room" for monetary policy adjustments. Although Diokno says, the adjustments will likely be less aggressive than last year's 75 basis point cut in the benchmark policy rate, and 400 basis point cut in reserve requirement ratios. The BSP will hold its first policy meeting for the year on February 6th.
