YouTube for Law Firms

YouTube for Law Firms Hey everyone, Barry from LawFull Attorney Marketing. In this attorney marketing minute I want to talk about using YouTube to market your law firm.

I’m not talking about advertising on YT. I’m talking about developing a YouTube channel for your Law Firm, recording and posting videos and using your channel to try and generate leads.

The firms I talk to are often interested in using video to market their firm and they should be. I developed my own YT channel for my old law firm. In around 2 years, I’ve gotten over 1200 subscribers, hundreds of comments and questions and several cases including a couple that are worth a lot of money.

Why is video so great for marketing your firm? You can use video on all your marketing channels. Yes, your videos are stored on YouTube and YT is the 2d most used search engine in the world. But you can also promote those videos on FB, Instagram, Twitter and your LinkedIn channels and on your website among many other places.

And people love video and graphics when searching on the Internet. So you’ll get really good engagement with your followers online by using video. And if you’ve got the videos on your website, you will increase the amount of time visitors to your site stay on your site.

One quick tip for you = get captions on all your videos. Research has shown that most people watch video within their feed with the sound off. If you have captions, people can read while they watch and that will help you get more views.

A few things to be prepared for when using a YouTube channel. FIRST, Engagement. I get asked a lot of questions on my YouTube channel. Probably 10 or 15 questions a week. And engaging with people on YouTube is extremely important. It doesn’t take long to respond to people and often these folks are leads so make sure you talk to people online.

Second, YT is a long-term play. You have to earn YouTube’s trust. Do not think you can post a few videos and get the type of views you want. You have to be prepared to post on YT for a long period of time to get where you want to go.

And third, you have to optimize your YouTube channel and every video you post on YouTube. This is where most law firms fail. They don’t optimize their channel properly.
