Sun Salute Modified for Knee & Ankle Pain Experiencing knee or ankle pain that is preventing you from practicing much yoga?

Injuries require us to slow down a bit and listen more to our bodies, as they recover and rejuvenate, rather than trying to push through. That doesn't necessarily mean, however, that we have to stop our practice altogether. It is entirely possible to get creative and think through which modifications can still provide similar benefits.

Check out this YouTube video for a modified Sun Salute sequence perfect for anyone experiencing knee or ankle pain. This sequence is also great for those who struggle for whatever reason with balance. Remember to always listen to your own body and know that you can always modify further by, for example, bending your knees on the seated forward fold, or taking hold of the backs of your thighs on the Downward-Facing Dog modification.
