Ian Blackford reiterated SNP demands for a new referendum on Scottish independence after the nationalist party secured a majority of Scotland's Commons seats.
But Tory MP Andrew Bowie was quick to dismantle Mr Blackford's calls for independence as he pointed out a majority of Scots still backed unionist parties at the polls.
"Last week, 55 percent of Scotland voted for parties who want to remain in the United Kingdom. There was no mandate for a second independence referendum in Scotland. The Scottish people are not calling out for a second independence referendum. Fix your own backyard first before you come here demanding a second independence referendum."
