READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF I COULDN'T CARE LESS: So, I'm gonna teach you two phrases today. The first is I couldn't care less, which means that you don't care about something, and this is the proper way to say it. But, because English is weird, we also say I could care less. So, this is kind of a strange situation here. This is the proper way to say it. So, maybe you have a friend who says that they're going to sell their car, and maybe you just rudely say to them, "You know what, I couldn't care less "if you sell your car or not. "I don't care if you keep your car, "I don't care if you sell your car. "I couldn't care less." But, you could also, informally, in spoken English, you could say, "Man, I could care less "if you sell your car." So, again, this is the proper way to say it, and it is kind of a mean thing to say to someone because it means that you don't care, but you could say, "I couldn't care less," and then informally, you could say, "I could care less." Sometimes in English we do that, we have two different ways of saying something. Most of the phrases that I teach you are somewhat informal, but some of them can be used in formal situations as well. In fact, even in this situation at work, I could say to someone, "I couldn't care less," and they would understand what I am saying, and I could also say to someone at work, "I could care less," and they would also understand what I was saying. In spoken English, as a native English speaker, we don't always realize when we are using slightly incorrect language. So, anyways, Bob the Canadian here.
