I have come across some of the viewers asking for what is the ideal size of the outlines/strokes/ consonants.
This is something which has been bothering them for the reason that perhaps they have not been guided at the right time.
Moreover, this is the reason why they have either adopted abnormally big or abnormally small outlines which create difficulties for them at a later date.
Though the matter seems to be very small in nature but it is very very important and if overlooked can cause lot of sufferings at a later date.
That is the reason why I thought of sharing the facts and my views on this subject today.
Let us first of all understand that as per the Pitman’s book, the consonants should be written about one-sixth of an inch long. It is of the utmost importance that from the outset the student should learn to form the whole of the strokes uniformly as to length. Whatever size be adopted, all the strokes should be made equal in length.
Later, in the theory we find the principle for writing strokes half the normal length and still later another principle for making of strokes double the normal length.
It is thus imperative that the student should obtain a fixed and strictly uniform length from the very start.
My above sharing is sourced from the Pitman’s widely used book which is with Instructor and key.
