7AM How to watch Thursday’s solar eclipse in a safe manner
Oman’s Ministry of Health has listed three devices through which you can watch the upcoming eclipse in a safe manner.
Solar eclipse glasses are of course the recommended way of looking at the eclipse.
But a telescope will also work, as will welder’s masks that have lens shades over the slot that enables people to see through it while wearing the helmet.
“Protect your eyes from damage. Don’t look at the sun when it is blocked by the moon. When the eclipse is underway, make sure you use the following tools: a telescope, special solar eclipse glasses, or a welder’s mask, as it has the right protection for your eyes.” – Ministry of Health
