This video shows the numerical results of the Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) process in which a machine lays narrow tows in composite material on a form. Between two tows is positioned an optical fiber used to monitor the soundness of the structures. The aim was to investigate the stress state on the optical fiber during the process in order to verify the structural integrity.
