In this competition, the contestants are required to perform the traditional lion dance routine which depicts the daily routine of the lion, such as getting ready for bed, sleeping, waking up and grooming and chasing fleas. The act also shows the interactions between the lion and its surroundings such as drinking from the nearby river and perform a dangerous river crossing with flair and agility. Most acts also feature the "Choi Chiang" or to forage for greens and proceeds to eat them. Some acts include encounters with a snake or a giant spider blocking the lion's path, who proceeds to attack and kill it by stomping on it repeatedly. In some performance, the lion also encounters some liquor and became drunk after drinking the intoxicating elixir. In the finale, the lion will overcome the day unscathed and returns to its cave dwelling.
The competition ran from 2nd to 3rd November 2019 that saw 25 teams participating in it. The competing teams were evaluated by a group of judges for their creativity and agility and penalized for their mistakes and clumsiness.
