Presidential candidates phone and text Georgia voters (21 Nov 2019) A day after the Democratic debate in Atlanta, presidential candidates sent text messages to over 300,000 people Thursday whose voter registrations could be canceled in Georgia.

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and entrepreneur Andrew Yang participated in the phone and text bank to prevent dormant voter registrations.

Georgia's Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's plans to purge over thousands of registered voters from voting rolls next month.

The candidates used a computer program to send dozens of text messages.

They even competed with each other to reach as many voters as they could.

The event was organized by Fair Fight Action, an organization founded by Stacey Abrams.
