Mount Airy is a small town in North Carolina with a population just over 10,000 people. It is widely known as the home of actor Andy Griffith who was born in Mount Airy. The town is believed to have been the basis for Mayberry, the setting of the TV shows The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry RFD.
