This is one of the coolest houses I have been in. It is very unique and definitely has some pros and cons, but you do not see many houses like this! It also has an interesting past having gone through foreclosure before it was ever lived in. It was built right before/during the housing crash in Greeley, Colorado. The home is currently for sale for $1,250,000 and the owners were nice enough to let me shoot this video! This house was built in 2007 along with two other large spec homes next to it. The houses were some of the largest in Greeley at the time and built at one of the worst times you could build a house. The houses were never lived in and all of them went through foreclosure. This house was listed for $1,800,000 when it was finished but it never sold. Then it was listed for $725,00 as a short sale and did not sell. It went through foreclosure and then sold for $585,000 in 2011. That is when the current owners bought it and fixed it up to what you see now.
I was actually in the house when it was for sale or right before it was for sale 10 years ago. I was doing a lot of REO (foreclosure) and BPO (broker price opinion) work for banks back then and I cannot remember if I saw the house because it was cool or because I was doing a BPO on it.
The house has some amazing architectural features with soaring ceilings and unique lines. It has 9,000 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a 4 car garage. It sits on a hill with some amazing views. Although, I would have loved for the builder to use the second story better with views towards the Rocky Mountains. The home has a theatre room, workout room, gift-wrapping room, massage room, and much more more.
I shot a video of another large house in Greeley a while back that is this home's main competition. That home was larger but had an unfinished basement, was older and did not have the upgraded materials this house has. That other house did have more land and a shop with it. They lowered the price on that house to $1,100,000.
I want to say thanks to the owner of this house for letting me walkthrough. I have asked a few other agents/owners of big houses in the area that are for sale and quite a few have not even responded to me!
