Semiconductor and the secondary battery industries see an increase in demand in the fourth industrial revolution. South Korea's semiconductor and secondary battery industries are making a prominent mark on the global stage. But in reality, the two industries are heavily dependent on foreign import of their core materials and manufacturing equipment. In particular, there are increasing signs that Korea should develop localized technology for the core components needed in semiconductor and secondary battery industries ever since Japan announced its export restrictions against South Korea.
