The minister of health Osagie Ehanire on Thursday decried the frequency of medical tourism by high ranking public servants in the country saying that the nation is losing huge resources on daily basis. The Minister disclosed this at the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora 2020 budget defence session with the Ministry officials in Abuja on Thursday.
He said medical tourism is a problem the ministry of health is yearly contending with.
The minister however assured that the health ministry is liaising with embassies of foreign countries with a view to bringing on board professionals in the medical field that can come and work in Nigeria and solve this problem.
Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora Representative Tolulope Sodipe in a brief remark assured the Minister and his team that the Committee had resolved that Nigerians in diaspora should be respected.
