In this tutorial I will show you how to make the crochet lace scarf using Foundation Ovals and any size yarn of your choosing. please refer down below for all of the information you will need to make a Cowl, an Infinity scarf or a long Scarf. Diagram:
THE FOUNDATION OVALS ARE A MULTIPLE OF 4 OVALS + 1 AT THE END.
Rewind times pop up on screen to help you know where to rewind back for more help on each row. These are marked on screen as "Start of Repeat" and noted at the end of the repeat on screen for the approximate time you should rewind to.
This is a 3 part tutorial.
PART 2 Part 2 will teach you how to do a second pattern repeat to make your scarf wider.

Hook size 4.5mm
FOUNDATION OVAL COUNTS:
Ovals will measure approximately 1" per oval.
Cowl: 25 to 33 ovals depending on personal preference
Infinity Scarf: 67 ovals
Scarf: 71 to 81 ovals depending on personal preference on total length

Yarn size Worsted weight 4 or Bulky 5
Hook size: 5mm to 6.5 depending which yarn you choose. For a looser drape use a 6.5mm hook for size 4 and a 7mm to 9mm for bulky.
FOUNDATION OVAL COUNTS:
Cowl: 17 ovals [approximately 32" total finished length]
Infinity Scarf: 37 ovals [approximately 73" total finished length]
Scarf: 41 ovals [approximately 80" total finished length]
